Our aims

The New Politics Platform has been conceived as a global and decentralised think tank on counter-hegemonic politics that will support the joint production of ideas to: (a) boost the development of desirable, viable and achievable alternatives aimed at transcending current oppressive and exploitative structures; (b) acknowledge the diversity of knowledge as a source of inspiration for the co-creation of alternatives; and (c) promote fruitful collaboration and exchanges among researchers and activists from different regions of the world.

Institute for Political Ecology

Alternative Information and Development Centre

AIDC was formed in 1996 in response to the democratic transition in South Africa. Based in Cape Town, AIDC produces and promotes alternative knowledge and analysis relevant for social movements struggling for social, economic and ecological justice. Website: http://aidc.org.za

IEALC is a research institute of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. The Havens Center

Established in the Sociology Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1984, the A. E. Attac France

Attac is an international activist organisation. Attac France focuses on social mobilisation against the hegemony of financial capital and the commodification of the world, and towards building an active democracy and greater convergence between building social organisations within the global justice movement. Fundación Solón

 The Solon Foundation was created in 1994 by the Bolivian artist Walter Solón Romero to encourage social creativity, critical thinking and the rise of rebellious spirits. Over the years, after the death of the artist in 1999, the foundation has become an institution actively engaged in the search for counter-hegemonic alternatives in the arts, social analysis and activism. Democracy Works

The Democracy Works Foundation, based in Johannesburg, analyses the health of democracy and implements innovative interventions and technologies in order to foster inclusive development. The Foundation promotes the voices of the South in international platforms aimed at linking the deepening of democracy with building more equal and just societies.
